I recently acquired a Taurus Model 92 in 9mm, the gun, which looked like a matted stainless, was extreamly dirty so I stripped it down for a thoughrow cleaning, once the frame was bare I was amazed at how light it was, the cleaner it got, the more it looks like some kind of aluminum alloyed frame.
I got on the Taurus website, and can't find any Model 92 alloyed frames, the right side of the slide is stamped PT 92 AFS, anyone have any info on this..........or am I losing it?

Thanks, and happy shootin'

No your not crazy.
The slide and frame don't quite have the same metal finish. So don't bug out.
How dose it perform though? What's Mag capacity?

Also my Bersa was the same way. Nice Nickel finish then a duller frame.

Thanks for the reply, the gun functions perfectly, it holds 15+1.
The trigger pull has got more take up than I care for, even in single action (but I'm used to 1911's with a good tweekin')
I'm still amazed at the frame wieght compared to a stripped 1911......and can't figure out the "92 AFS"....I can find "92 FS or 92 SS" but no info on AFS, not even in Modern Gun Values?

oh well....... maybe I'll have a beer......hhhmmmm.....I hope that's not the problem !

happy shootin'
