Still liking this G2 ... put another 150rds through it yesterday, estimated 1200rds ..no hiccups . I have owned a few PT111’s .. all worked great .. when I got this one .. I already made up my mind .. Im keeping..
Seems the others went in trades ...
Its been my primary carry for the past few weeks ..
I shaved the finger rest off of a extra mag ..less printing
I know they are Taurus haters ... Myself I lean toward Glocks .. but this G2 is a performer.. period...

I purchased one as a gift for my father as a tractor gun. It has stood up well so far. I am debating purchasing a few more locally when they come back on sale for sub 200.

I have one and it works just fine. Same for my BiL. Same for my good friend.

It's well worth it to pay $20 extra for the stainless slide. The most common complaint is the bluing not holding up well for regular CC.

I cleaned mine today. I'd forgotten how well-constructed it seems to be. The mags are nice.

I've shot over 500 rounds through mine, but probably less than 1,000. If I've had a malfunction, I don't remember it.

Mine is a range toy, but I would use it for CC or HD without hesitation.

Palmetto State Armory has the stainless slide version on sale for $199.99 this weekend. I think it is the best economy option for self defense/carry.

Just curious, take a look at the underside of the slide. Do you see any spider cracks in the metal on either side of the firing pin assembly? After about 2000 rds fired mine did show cracks in the metal. It still shot reliably, but the cracks did concern me.

I have steered clear of Taurus products since the 1990]s. Up until then I had, and still have, a half dozen Taurus gun's that always worked for me. The bad press on Taurus semi-automatics and revolvers.made me leery. I settled on CZ products, but still shot my Taurus guns. When the P T 111 G2 came out I thought here we go, another jam o matic to complain about and atrocious CS to boot. A close friend was visiting and showed me his concealed carry gun he had just bought. Yes, the dreaded Taurus G2. We went to my range and loaded up. I was prepared to be kind in my G2 evaluation. He fired off three magazines, no problems, very good hit's from the 7, 15 , and 25 yards. Then he did it again and again and again. Finally I said "Let me see that." I dry fired it a few times and found the trigger pull long and somewhat gritty, but acceptable. I fired it and cannot say I found one fault in it other than the trigger which I got used to. Magazine ejection was fast and reloading was quick. It's a good gun. I hear the G3 is even better, but I have no experience with it. Last time I talked to my Friend he had around 1100 rounds through his G2 without a malfunction. Taurus looks to have turned the company around. Their TX22 is an undoubted winner. I could have picked up an unfired one at auction for $160 but I passed since I was focused on some rifles. I have a PT99AF I bought almost 30 years ago and it's flawless. I bought an unfired PT917C at auction for $175 . Nobody wanted it.
The only regret I have is the 709 Slim. I just don't care for it and the value on these dropped like an anchor right after I bought one.
Taurus also makes good wheel guns.

They are nice for what they are and reasonably priced. Haven't had any problems with the Tauruses I've owned (PT111 G2 and a PT-92).

My biggest issue is customer service, though it hasn't affected me directly. One annoyance is unlike most firearms, you can't buy replacements parts (except used) for the vast majority of their guns to swap or fix yourself. Therefore, you HAVE to send them in to get them fixed. That wouldn't be so bad if it didn't take so long. My best friend sent his PT111 G2 in (that he bought on my recommendation ) after something broke internally and locked up the whole gun. It took nearly 4 months to get it back. Thankfully he had another handgun to have around the house in the meantime (a Canik). With that in mind, I usually say they're a great option as long is it won't be your ONLY handgun in case you have to send it in.

none noted

my Glock 43 is jealous... in that dark safe ..,

My only complaint is that it has the most uncomfortable "trigger dingus" of them all. I've had zero issues with mine, I've three that I received as replacements for class action lawsuit recall guns. Not happy that I returned a 9mm, .40S&W and .45ACP and got three 9mm guns back! :(

I keep one in the safe, another in the center console, and the third gets regular practice use at the range.

As was mentioned above, the Customer Service leaves a lot to be desired, so I'd hesitate to recommend one despite my very favorable experience and the remarkably low price for what you get.

I ground one of my mags flat. Here it is:

I bought a G2C when they were first marketed. My LGS has trouble selling them because of the PT111 issue and some issues with the G2. So the LGS sold Them at near cost ($190) to move them from inventory. A the G2C was reviewed favorably demand war up along with the price. They can still be bought at good prices. Mine was a damn good gun, and ate any ammo. For th price the quality was good. But I am a Walther guy so it went after I played with it for while.

LGS .. sell the G2’s and G3’s like hot cakes ...
Seems that any potential gun buyer that is looking for a carry pistol is interested.. Myself I have 20ish? semiautomatic pistols at this time .. most Glocks .. but I have my intangibles... the G2 is one of’em
fine pistol ... carried it tonight AIWB

There are a few videos out there showing that the G3 magazines can be used in the G2C. There are a few people out there making G3 mag spacers so they look better in the G2C.

I've used the MEC-GAR magazines for the SIG-SAUER P226 in my Taurus Millennium G2 PT111 and have not had any problems with them at all.

There is also a video of shooting the C2C using the G3 4.00" barrel:

The Taurus website shows a stainless steel slide version of the G3 but I've yet to see one for sale.

I really really like my G2C. It’s a great gun regardless of the price. It has been utterly reliable and accurate. It looks good and shoots well. Taurus has been killing it recently. I see lots of favorable reviews about the G2C,TX-22, and G3. They give people what they want, but don’t rake them over the coals.

You know Taurus up their game and have a good product when there's a Taurus thread that doesn't consist of a bunch of bickering and Taurus bashing.

I started buying Taurus pistols around the time the G2C came out. I had to have had hundreds of post since 2012, 2013 debating with others who claimed the gun was unreliable trash and would berate anyone who gave them a good review for no other reason than it was a Taurus. Now it seems that the same naysayers are highly out numbered, and they're the ones who are being berated if/when they start Taurus bashing.

I owned two PT111 G2's, two 738 TCP's, a stainless Model 85 revolver, and a G2S single stack. All have been flawless. Never had a single issue. Everything except the M85 has been sold off. The reason being that prices on the Shield, Walther PPS M2, Beretta APX, M&P 2.0, Springfield XD's, Caniks, etc have came down to around the $300 from being $400 or more back when the PT111 G2 was first released. You just get more for your money by adding another $75-$100 if you can afford to. The price difference is not as substantial as it once was especially when you factor in customer service and warranty that you'll receive from the other brands.

I get to shoot a lot of Taurus pistols. The PT 111 Millennium went through several changes, but it internal parts stayed pretty much the same until the PT 111 G2 came out. It was basically a whole new gun. Then Taurus made some mods to the PT 111 G2. The pistol with the new mods is the PT 111 G2c. The lock safety was removed from the slide and the grip texture was made a little more aggressive. To clean up the look of the slide, Taurus removed the PT 111 model name and just went with G2c. But if you look where the SN# is you will see that the gun is marked PT111G2c.
The G2c became very popular due to its size, mag capacity and price. And the fact that the little gun functioned great was a big plus.
The G2c was doing so good that Taurus decided to make a full size version and called it the G3. The G2c and the G3 are like the Glock G19 and G17.
The only trouble I have seen with the G2c is that some seem to have rough triggers, but not many of them, and the finish on the slides don’t hold up very good.
The G2c and the G3 are great guns at a great price.

I'd like to add that the trigger isn't target or competition trigger. It's a typical combat/self defense trigger that is more than capable to be on target at self defense distances.

I'd also say spend the extra $10-$20 for the stainless slide. Unlike the blues slide, the stainless will still look like new even after a couple of years of carry and use, and you will not have to worry to much about rusting.

I can't figure out why Taurus doesn't make a stainless steel extractor for the stainless steel G2C slide.

It bugs me.

Mine has an awful trigger with a "catch" halfway through the pull. It's super annoying and I replaced the plastic striker guide with an aftermarket steel one. No improvement. I then took the gun apart and filed everything I thought could be causing it. No improvement. Apparently some of them have this anomaly for an unknown reason.

Other than that and the slide finish being more fragile than a Millennial without cell service, it's a wonderful little pistol for the money. Great size, great ergonomics, and great placement of the controls.

I fondled a G3 at the LGS and it's trigger didn't have the issue mine had and was much, much better.

I’ve had a G2 for a few years. The trigger has a hitch in it about 1/2 way through which I absolutely hate. One day at the range the trigger failed to reset twice in one mag full. I retired it to woods duty. I replaced it with a Ruger LC9s Pro which has an outstanding trigger and is easier to carry thumbnail-IMG-0076.jpg

Discontinued, single stack, and is 7+1 instead of 12+1 (G2C) or 15+1 or 17+1(G3). The LC9s also only shipped with 1 mag.

A better comparison would be with the Taurus Slim or G2s...
