Taurus G2

The PT 111 G2 I had had the aforementioned weak finish & I didn't like the trigger. It did work awful well for a $200 gun though. I sold it and an old XD-40 & bought a .40 M&P 2.0 Compact. Now I find myself wanting a double stack subcompact 9 though. The guy that owns the Taurus is happy with it.

Discontinued, single stack, and is 7+1 instead of 12+1 (G2C) or 15+1 or 17+1(G3). The LC9s also only shipped with 1 mag.

A better comparison would be with the Taurus Slim or G2s...
Comparing the LC9s Pro to the G2c or the G3 is unfair. The Ruger is a far superior pistol. Metal trigger and guide rod and oh my what a far better trigger. I feel having no safety is an advantage in a brain freeze situation. I’m comfortable with 8 round capacity with its much more concealable size. I bought two extra mags for mine. If you want more you have to pay more

LC9S... Whole lot of nope. I have one and have never lost so much on a gun purchase. Once they came out with the EC9S value plummeted.

And I have found out that there are very few situations where I can carry the LC9 that I can't carry my P320sc, M&P9c or yes, the PT111 G2. And those other guns have 17-21 round backup magazines.

If you want one, bring a new PT111 with a stainless slide, and I will give you a LC9S with another magazine, original box, and IWB holster. I can't sell it for $200 in good condition... And the PT is more accurate and useful to me.

My only complaint with the G2s is FTF. That is a big enough issue for me to not want another Taurus. If you’re satisfied that’s all that matters. Be safe my friend

The polymer CZ75 compact "clone" made in Turkey is another very nice pistol at a similar price point to the G2.

I also have the SAR B6P

My SAR B6P has been in my car for a fall, winter, spring, summer since August 2015, and its doing OK. I only shoot it about once a month and give it a normal lube after cleaning - just a once over with a rag with some Mobil 1 on it, and a dab of Lubriplate on the rails. I did use Meguiars Gold Class carnauba wax on the outside of the slide. I don't clean it before I take it to the range, I unload it, put it in a case, reload it at the firing line and shoot it. It runs like a champ - never a problem.

As weird as the Taurus Millennium G2 PT111 double-action trigger is, it is easier for me to shoot than the SAR B6P double action trigger which is a very heavy trigger.

But anyway, I have a lot of confidence in the SAR B6P.

Maybe you were unlucky with the SAR. I bought one, "had to" trade it towards something else, and replaced it with another. They've both had pretty good triggers.

That's because the G2C is really a single action trigger. It is pre-cocked. The double action pull only occurs when you pull the trigger and the round doesn't go off. It's just a second strike capability. The SAR is a standard DA/SA that can be manually decocked.

In dry firing, I have better follow-though firing the Taurus Millennium G2 PT111 double action. IMO, the double-action trigger pull on the Taurus Millennium G2 PT111 is better than the single-action trigger. I suppose some people might carry the pistol uncocked, with a round in the chamber, and yes the DA trigger comes into play in re-striking an unfired round, but for the most part it is not an issue in actual use. It's just an oddity about this Taurus pistol (for me).

As far as the SAR B6P's double action trigger, it isn't gritty, it doesn't stack, its not a bad trigger, it's just heavy. Many owners have switched out the stock spring with one from Wolff and have said it really improves the trigger.

My B6P is holstered on the side of the middle console of my car, cocked and locked. To me the DA trigger pull of the B6P is a moot point.

With a Glock or a Kahr, if you pull the trigger and the slide doesn't move rearward to re-tension the striker, you have a dead trigger.

With the Taurus G2c, if you pull the trigger and the slide doesn't move rearward, the next trigger pull does all the work of completely moving the striker fully to the rear, disengages the safety mechanisms and moves the sear.

I have fired more then a hundred G2’s and G2c’s and it only takes one pull of the trigger to disengage the safety and fully cock the striker. The gun fires once the trigger pull is complete. If you stop pulling the trigger and release it, it engages the safety and the strike returns to the same position it was before. You need to look at the internal parts to understand how it works. Most striker fired guns are pretty close to each other.

G2c on top, G2 on bottom.

G2c on the right and G2 on the left.

The main difference is that the safety block was removed from the G2c. As you can see the G2c doesn’t have the plunger next to the striker.

Picked up a G2C w/ ss slide under $250 out the door. When you pulled the trigger the center trigger safety would scrape under a piece of metal--the spring on center trigger safety bar was too strong.
Shippers wanted $80 to send to factory--Taurus wanted $50
Turned gun upside down & put a Dremel tool beside trigger & ground down safety bar-----WORKS GREAT NOW & safety bar still works--GREAT GUN FOR THE PRICE.
