I currently have a 24/7 pro with about 1500 rounds through it and it has been very very reliable. I am considering adding either a compact version of it, or the millenium pro to the stable as my carry piece.

I would like to stick with Taurus as I am comfortable with the trigger pull and how the gun feels in my hands. Just want to get some input from people who have the Millenium.

I would carry it IWB for the most part...

thanks
Joe

Already have good experience with Glock 30 and was looking for another 45 compact with a smaller grip for wife (G30 grip was too big for her hands).

The staff at the range suggested I try the newer PT145 Millennium Pro (Does not have the Pro on the left side of the slide). I did not like the DAO triggers of previous generation Taurus models, but liked the SA/DA (multi-strike) trigger of the PT145 Mil Pro when I dry fired it. During live fire, I was very pleasantly surprised. The trigger was very much improved (shoots SA all the time unless no primer ignition - then DA on second pull+) and of course, the grip was small enough for my wife - Yes, hard to believe the small grip for a 10 round double column magazine. FYI, it uses the same Fobus holster as the Springfield XD45.

Although I am a fan of Glocks, I find the ergonomics of PT145 Mil Pro better: Grip angle is more similar to 1911/Sig (I can point to any door knob and the Heine straight eight sights are always dead-on), magazine release can be actuated without adjusting the grip (full metal magazine releases freely without bulging), slide lock has more aggressive/larger grip, and the added safety is a plus for those that want it (it is mounted to drop for fire and works very well with a definite "click" with the thumb).

I bought the Taurus PT145 Mil Pro with stainless slide last year and have put it through several thousand round test and it has yet to jam, FTF or FTE using various factory ammunition and jacketed/plated/lead reloads. It also feeds/chambers 200gr LSWC without ANY problem. The ramp comes highly polished and the 200gr LSWC literally "HOPS" into the chamber.

Many will be surprised to hear that PT145 Mil Pro is actually shorter than my Glock 27 and comparable in height/width with G27 Pearce grip extension. Since the purchase, I find myself pushing the G27 at my wife more often so I can shoot the PT145 Mil Pro. She doesn't mind as the recoil of G27 is less. :D

I would highly recommend the PT145 Mil Pro as a compact carry/CCW and SD/HD pistol.

FYI - Old PT145 magazine will not work in the newer PT145 Pro.

I had great experiences with my PT145 Mil-Pro. I traded it off in a fit of stupidity and lately I have neen thinking that I need to get another one. Mine went over 1500 rounds with no trouble, was easy to carry and shot great. Don't know what I was thinking when I let it go. :fire:

Good to hear positive things about this gun. I've always been intrigued by it for the size and capacity, but so much bad press has kept me at a distance.

Mine worked well for what it was, and the only problem I had with it was magazine related. I just couldn't get used to the trigger or the sights. If you are comfortable with the platform, I'd go for it.

A few weeks ago a friend and I went to the range. I had my Beretta PX4 .45, and he had a brand new PT-140 (he actually bought it that day). I noticed that the magazine didn't seem to fit as securely in the Taurus as the magazine did into my Beretta. It seemed loose, if that makes sense. And it may have been the ammo he was using, but we had a few FTFeed issues as well. The trigger wasn't as precise either. Again, this is in comparison to my Beretta, which I am a big fan of. Grain of salt applies here...

However, he picked up the Taurus for $325 out the door, which is almost 50% less than what I paid for my Beretta. For the money, it's a good piece. It just wasn't the better piece that day.

My MilPro 140 was the biggest piece I ever owned. Constant problems (mostly the recoil spring assembly liked to shoot down range) and if that wasn't enough I got the pleasure of dealing with Taurus Customer Service 3 times. Never again.

I'm on my second PT-111, which is my daily carry (pancake at 4:00).

I had the Gen. II DAO model and traded it in on the Gen III SA/DA model.

It has fed and ejected the following ammo. with 100% reliability

115 & 124 gr. ball
115, 124 & 147 gr. HPs

The trigger has much improved and is the reason I upgraded. But a 1911 SA trigger it is not....

I shoot it well enough and trust it for my daily carry.

The only issues that I have had are approx. 3 light primer strikes, with WWB ball or my own reloads with Win. primers.

Win primers may just be a tad harder than the others... or I may have not fully seated the primer on my reloads.

They always went bang on the second tap.

One of these days I'm going to detail strip the receiver and run a pipe cleaner with some jewelers rouge through the firing pin hole, as I've read others post that sometimes the machined finish is sometimes rough there, and smoothing out the walls can elliminate the light strike problem.

I owned a PT-145 for a few months. It was reliable and very accurate. I loved the capacity vs small size that it offered. Then only downside was the magazine release. The release was activated several times when the gun was in its holster. Several times the magazine clattered to the ground in a very embarassing way. Many times I went to put the gun up at night and found the magazine released, but not out of the gun.

Keep the magazine release in mind as you look at holsters and how you wear the gun and it may work very well for you. I wound up trading it for another gun since I didn't feel safe that it would fire when drawn.

Fobus paddle holster (Model SP 11B) is designed so that the magazine release button is protected with 3/8" space from the top of the paddle/holster mount. There is no way the release button can contact the holster body or by your hand/thumb.

It is the same holster as the Springfield XD45 and comes with tension adjustment screw. The angled tilt makes the draw easier. Also, MidwayUSA has it for $20 - very good price for this highly comfortable, functional, and adjustable tension holster

I had two Taurus guns in my life, Model 92 -9mm and 941- 22 mag
I dont have them any more.

I have used the PT-111 as my carry for the last 3 years. Probably shot 1,000 through it. I love it.

I also have a 24/7 OSS in 9mm (larger and longer) and I'm pretty sure the (shorter barrel) 111 is more accurate.
