Taurus Model 85: Comments? Opinions?

Have owned a bunch of 85's. Still have two +P rated revolvers that have had lots of rounds through them and never a problem. Truthfully have not met anyone who has a had a problem with this model. Probably the best gun sold by Tauris.

Thanks everyone for all their reviews, I am going to pick one up, for $265 you can not go wrong!

I have a Model 85SSUL (+P rated) with a factory rubber grip. It's my second one because I got stupid and traded the first one off. It's no longer in my carry rotation, but it'll make a nice spare.

I have one almost 20 years old. People complain about not being able to hit anything with a snubby but I can hit a 1 ft square steel plate at 50 yards with this gun. I can't group well on paper targets with it but it is certainly accurate enough for defensive work.

Several years ago I had trouble with the spring on the ejector rod, can't remember if it was my fault or not but I sent it to Taurus and it took almost 3 months but it came back fixed and ready to go. I also installed Hogue Monogrips on it and it is a pleasure to shoot.

+ 10 On Taurus 85 You will enjoy owning it!

Have 905 9mm version (same exact frame)
Wife Carries 85 Ultra - Lite .38

Have had a few previous to these and many other Taurus Firearms incl. Big bore revolvers and have a beautiful 1911 BHW .45 Auto.

I just picked up a 2nd 856 Hy-Lite. I do not miss the +P and like having the 6th shot. I've got my eye out for one of the matt gold finish Titanium 85 for +P purposes.
