A friend of mine from work has a Taurus Model 86 .357 Mag (I'd never heard of this model before) with a rear sight missing and I'm trying to help him locate one.
Either that or perhaps point him in the direction of a Taurus or maybe a S&W rear sight (some of Taurus models were direct copies) that he could substitute for it.
In fact I can't find much info on the net about it at all. At first I thought that he was mistaken on the model number and that it was a Model 66. It turns out that there were Model 86's made. Sort of looks like a S&W 586.
Intensive searches on the net yielded zilch. I also can't find out if there's any comparable S&W models where a sight could be substituted.
Anyone know where to look for a rear sight or know of a comparable S&W model?
I've tried Numrich, eBay, Brownells, Midway, Bobs gun parts, gunbroker, scludershots (I'm probably messing their name up) and calling Taurus (they were no help and it took me 45 mins of waiting to speak with a very unhelpful lady).
