I found a blog entry describing a new single stack 9 mm polymer pistol from Taurus: http://michaelbane.blogspot.com/2008/02/little-bitty-pretty-onein-9mm.html

I suspect that the blog entry is incorrect describing it as single action. DA/SA perhaps, consistent with the current Millenium Pro models.

This looks very interesting, and I have been waiting for Taurus to come out with the 9 mm equivalent of the 745. It looks as if this may be it.

I was thinking about picking up a Mil-Pro this year, but I think I will wait till this comes out instead.

If anyone finds complete specs, I'd love to find out width, height and overall length (although slide length is probably pretty close to overall).

I believe the action is incorrect. On the web page describing the pistol, the narrative text describes it as DAO.

I like the looks of the 709, but I'd still rather carry 7rnds of .45 (PT-745), than 9rnds of 9mm in the same size package.

i like the smooth look of this, it has a nice flow to it...anyone have a guess on price range?

I'm sure the folks at Kel-Tec grin to know that Ruger and Taurus seem to have flattered them so sincerely. (At least, based on the close resemblance of the new Ruger .380 to the P3AT, and IMO the less-close-but-evident kinship of this one to the PF9.)

The more I look at it, the less ugly I find this one ;)

What?!? No tactical rail? Where will I mount my laser and light?

Just kidding. Anyone have specs yet? It LOOKS like it's about 6" long and 4.5" or 4.6" high, just by examining the pictures, but I find it odd that, while stressing the 'SLIM' aspect, I can't seem to find a width on it...

Cool, my friend/co-worker was considering getting a 9mm Millenium Pro, but said the double stack grip was a bit too thick. I think he will be very interested to hear about this.

Looks nice...but...is it DAO or that new fangled DA/SA? The reason I like the 2nd generation Millennium Pro PT145 was the fact that it was DAO.

I'm getting a Kahr K9 shortly myself...why...cuz it is DAO...and I do like the thin, all metal frame.

Eh..maybe if it was a bit cheaper or smaller. I think I'd buy a CW9 before that for roughly the same price.

i am glad to see they got rid of the " straight eight" sights. i never did like those. it is the worse part of my 24/7. so if that is all i have to complain about, the rest of the gun must be pretty good.

You're comparing MSRP of a Taurus to the street price of a CW9. The Taurus street price is more likely to be in the $350 range, if similarly-priced MSRP:Street-Price ratios hold.
