This is my first post on this site so please have mercy on a newbie. I bought a brand new Taurus PT145 Pro today and experienced a slide catch problem after just 20 rounds…ugh. Anyways if you click on the link you can see my plight. I have tried re- sliding the slide and got the catch back into the proper place, but alas it returns to its present malfunction state every time. Please help oh guru of guns!

Thanks!

How did you manage to do that  Take it back to the place you bought it from and see if they can figure it out, worse case you will have to send it to Taurus for repair..

Interesting. My "Millenium PRO" SAYS "PRO" right after the Millenium. Are you sure you have the latest Pro model? Even so- I see no way the slide catch could cam up and cause damage like that unless either the slide or the catch were damaged themselves before this mishap happened. What exactly occurred? Did you disassemble the weapon and perhaps not get it back together properly?

The new Mil Pro's with SA/DA say Millenium on the left and have the model number followed by PRO on the right, such as PT 145 PRO.

 I, too, am curious how you managed to do that. You weapon is just plain 0l' Broke...no way to fix this, you will have to send this back to Taurus and looks like total replacement parts are in order.

Yes send it back, and please follow up with the speed and effectiveness of Taurus' lifetime warranty service.

Sorry about not responding sooner as I was in the midst of exams. “No, I’m not one of the crazy college kids either…..I know what some of you guy were thinking..lol” anyways..I have sent the gun back to Taurus today through my local gun shop. The slide catch broke after firing just 20 rounds the day I bought it! It "was" a brand new gun.... I will keep you guys updated on how long this repair takes. The gun shop owner informed me that it will take at least a month and half minimum with Taurus in order to get it repaired…. I’m not exactly a happy customer at the moment due to my concealed permit class being 3 weeks away!

Thanks for the help,
JNG

I believe that I have seen this before in these Tauri. As I recall, the takedown latch retainer spring also holds the slide stop in place. Improper insertion of the takedown latch can move the spring out of position and the slide stop works out and causes this problem.:uhoh:

@PCRit - "The new Mil Pro's with SA/DA say Millenium on the left and have the model number followed by PRO on the right, such as PT 145 PRO."

So when you say "new" are you talking Gen 3 or Gen 2? Because mine, that I just bought new, is as you describe but has the acc rail also, yet has no Z in the serial so I thought it was a Gen 2?
