I have been looking at one of these. PT145 Millennium Pro Looking for input from current or previous owners. Reliability, functionality, problems, etc. I like the idea of the slide safety common with 1911 style guns. I have owned several handguns and am not a newbie. How would you rate the quality of the Taurus compared to Glock or others. Thanks for the input.

I can't believe I'm the first to respond. First off, I love the shove of a 45acp. I did a lot of research on the internet, forums, Taurus site and www.taurusarmed.net. Then I got to hold one in my hand. That was the clincher. If it doesn't feel right in your hand, put it down and walk away; don't try to sell yourself on it. I found it a perfect fit. And whooda thunkit? 10+1 rounds for 45acp in a small package! WOOT! Mine has been near perfect through over 1000 rounds. I shoot factory loads and reloads in it. It is accurate (for me) out to around 40ft. When using it as my carry gun, I keep 230gr Remington Golden Sabers in it. Works for me. Discount the Taurus trashing unless it comes from folks that have actually held/owned/shot one. Just like every other brand out there, on occasion a bad one makes its way out of the factory. My only wish is for SigLite Night Sights on it. :D

I had a 3rd gen PT145PRO that was a great CCW gun. I shot well over 1K thru it without any hiccups. The only reason I sold it was to fund a Sig P229, and I will get another one day. Just make sure you get on that has PTxxxPRO on the RH side, and just Millennuim on the LH side. That will determine that it is a 3rd gen gun. Like this:

They are perfect for CCW, IMO.

Bought one used this summer for CCW. Its a 2nd Gen. and I really love it for carry. It has been very trouble free and once I got used to the DAO trigger, very accurate.

My friend and I bought consecutively numbered ones a couple years ago. Mine has been flawless and I LOVE it. His has given him constant trouble, will not fire a complete mag without stoppage and he despises it.

Great pistol in my opinion. Poor quality control.

I have one and although it has only fired a couple hundred rounds I like it. Didn't like the crazy eight sights so I replaced it with williams fire sights. still playing with those.

I keep 230gr Remington Golden Sabers in it.

I tried those but for some weird reason it would eject the empties on top of my head. Didn't do it with lighter hollow points (speer 150 gr?) or WWB ball ammo.

Try it you will like it. I thought it would be punishing in its light weight format but it is is not, at least not to me. Not to my twelve year old either or a young woman I let shoot it.
