A lady at our match had her safety spring plunger fly out somehow. The lever was just flopping around. Ironically I was the one that diagnosed the issue despite not knowing much about 1911's. She tried to shoot three stages like that.

I also had problems with my PT1911. Four years ago the ejector disappeared after firing 50 round in a session. Sent it to taurus UPS not telling them what was in the box. Thinking that if I told them it was a gun it might be stolen. Got it back 6 weeks later repaired and they paid the shipping back to me. Been good to me ever since. The gun was bought 5 yrs. ago. Shoots real good. If anything else goes wrong I will use a indi. for repairs.

I almost fell out of my chair reading post 13. Steel dust and glue. That sounds so much better than MIM doesn't it? Plastic frames and safeties made from steel dust and glue. I never thought I would live long enough to see such wondrous things. It's a Brave New World I'm telling ya....

we gotta do something with all those metal shavings. Might as well grind em up, mix in some elmers glue and turn it into gun parts.

I've got an even better idea: MIM bridges. What could possibly go wrong?
