I just sent my tcp (D serial number) back to Taurus for repair after about 150 rounds. The trigger appeared to be dropping from half cock resulting in light primer strikes. The odd thing is this went from working flawlessly to nothing with no notice. After racking the slide the trigger is in half cock, as the trigger is pulled, it should come back to full cock and drop as the trigger breaks, this seemed to be slipping off the seer early. Question being is this a common malfunction for this model? I've heard of the short stoke reset issue, but that's not what this is. I had a tcp previously that I probably had 500-600 rounds through that ran perfect, should have never sold it. Does anyone have experience with Taurus warranty repairs? Should I trust this thing when it returns? This is my primary CCW. I'd carry something else but the tcp is the only gun I've owned that is convenient enough to ensure that I carry every day. And, I figure a .380 on my person is better than a .45 in the safe.

I don't own one of those, but these popped up during a quick google search. The only Taurus that I've never seen an issue on is the Model 85 revolver (similar to a J frame Smith). My experience with warrantee/customer service (when I had an FFL and dealing with customer gun problems) was enough of a headache that I won't own another one.
They've been in business long enough to figure it out. Why they haven't is beyond me.

I had 4 taurus pistols. I now have 2 so a failure rate of 50% means I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER TAURUS POS EVER!!

Taurus repair turnaround is very fast in my experience. I have a PT709 that had light strikes out of the box. I was impressed with the work they did because they put a new barrel on the pistol and replaced the scratched up backplate. Since the repair it's been flawless.

For the right price I would buy another Taurus

Thanks for the links. Looks like I now have the same success rate of 50% with Taurus products. Hopefully it comes back working, but I suppose it may be time to trade it in on a Ruger lcp. I wish the glock 42 was just a hair smaller, as it has the absolute best feel in my hand of anything ive picked up. But again, if it's not the size of the tcp, lcp, p3at, I'm likely not to carry it everyday. How about diamondback db9? Anyone carry one?

Taurus Mod 85 DAO with timing problems. Taurus warranty repair required me to ship overnight fedx. I had to pay the $50+ shipping, and wait 6 weeks for return.

Ruger SP101 with problem ( I reassembled wrong ) - Ruger sent me a box and prepaid shipping label. Gun returned in 3 weeks. Total cost to me $0.

Ymmv.

My LGS will ship guns back for you if there is an issue. That is a perk work asking and paying for when buying a new firearm.

I can't help you with the TCP problem but I had one and it was flawless. I sold it because I don't like the .380.
I carry a PT709. It's been flawless for 3 years and I've had a 92AF for 25 years and it runs like a sewing machine.

I own several Taurus handguns. Have had to work on several with issues right out of the box but only sent one back.
That experience was good, round trip 2 weeks and problem repaired, was a 6" Model 66 that shot way left.
I just picked up a TCP also- hard to turn down when PSA had them on sale for $169 .
Wanted an extra mag- got on Taurus's new online chat on a Monday morning, ordered a mag and a couple of small parts, like the $1 takedown pin.
Had them on Friday.
So- looks like they may be improving although there are plenty of current horror stories on TaurusArmed.net.
