Has anyone had any problems with the ______ I don't know the name, it's the pin you pull out to disassemble. Mine started working it's way out in just 1 mag........

There is a small piece of spring wire that locks the disassembly latch in place. Your manual specifically states:
"3. When reinstalling the disassembly latch , you
must make sure that the BARREL is fully forward in
the SLIDE. The PIN must be pushed through the
FRAME and the mating portion of the bottom of the
BARREL. Once these parts have been lined up, and
you gently push the latch in, a click will be heard
indicating that the pin is secured in place."
This is the spring wire snapping into a slot on the latch. It will work its way out if this isn't done. I have heard of a problem where the spring is missing, broken or bent where it doesn't hold the latch. Most often it is because the pin wasn't pushed all the way in and the pin/latch is not retained.

My TCP hasn't had any problem either over the last 6-7 years and a 1000+ rounds. But on the Taurusarmed forum, this problem has been discussed. My pin has always snapped back in when I reassemble it and I do look for it to assure it is retained. I can see that it could easily work its way out if it wasn't retained properly. I was just giving the OP one possibility to rule out before contacting Taurus and feeling like an idiot if that was his problem. There is ample evidence of people losing faith in their carry piece after experiencing even lesser problems and I don't want more Taurus bashers than we already have. Kokapelli, how are you liking your TCP? Do you carry it? Due to my style of dress, shorts/bathing suit and a tee shirt 90% of the time, I pocket carry in a holster most all the time. I usually follow a very relaxed lifestyle and always in year around warm weather, wherever that may be.

Of the many 380 pistols I have my P238 and my G42 are by far the best shooters, but they are bigger and heavier than the TCP so it gets carried the most.
