Picked up a new one tonight for a song.

My question is what's the best bullet weight for this rifle with a 1:12 twist rate---my experience with .223/5.56 is only with 1:7--1:8 and 1:9 semi-auto rifles--------so kinda clueless with this new twist rate.

Thanks

OBG

My .223 rifles with 1 in 12" twist liked bullets in the 40 to 55 gr weight. 50 gr bullets seemed a good compromise, but the 40 grainers also shot very well and give spectacular performance on small Varmints at close range.

Congrats on the new rifle. Wondering why TC went with such a fast twist rate. I guess to support lighter bullets. Tell us how she shoots.

I have a TC dimension in 223 with the same twist, it shoots up to 62 grains (Federal Fusion) just fine, it also does well with the 55 grain Barnes TSX, which is a longer bullet. I haven't tried anything heavier than 62 grains. It likes the 50 grain American Eagle varmint tipped best.

If your Venture shoots as accurately as mine, you will be very happy. With my reloads, mine shoots about 1/2 inch @ 100 yds.
