Tea Party, not NRA, took down Obama on Gun Control

The NRA is used as the boogey man by the Antis because they can misrepresent us as a monolithic industry lobby like the cigarette lobby instead of a grass roots, internet, state group and national groups team effort to oppose them. They want to frame the discussion as all the "little people" being protected by Government from the big bad special interest group. They never want to talk about the members of the NRA or SAF or GOA or that funding for those groups and the state groups and the internet sites doesn't come big busness/private contributors.

This, exactly.

For me, I don't mind that the gun control folks are spending their time, effort, and money aiming for the "straw man" of the NRA...it takes their attention off of where the REAL RKBA preservation efforts are.

Tea Party is not a monolith; quite frankly they should rightly be called Tea Parties.

To the Left, "Tea Party" is very elastic, stretchable to cover any and all they disagree with. When the left talk about "Tea Party" it is like hearing them talk about "gun lobby" -- their concept is out there in fantasyland.
