I've recently done a repair and restoration job on a Ted Williams Model 34. I don't have anything to compare it to function wise so I figured I'd ask here.

First off the rifle fuctions perfect with a variety of ammo. Couldn't be happier with the accuracy either, I was surprised.

One issue is bothering me though. The rifle will not fully eject live rounds. If I load 5 rounds in the magazine and cycle the action a round will chamber. When I cycle the action again it will only extract the round out of the chamber but drop it into the open action. With the next round up and ready to load this ties up the gun at the most and is a PITA at the least. Dangerous either way.

I can see that the extractor is not holding the round tight to the breechface. There is probably about .040 to .050" of free space between the breechface and extractor hooks with a round against the breechface. Everything looks fine, no excessive wear, no bent extractor hooks, etc...........
Can someone tell me if they Model 34 does the same thing???????
It seems like this is how it's going to be no matter what I do. I don't know if it came from the factory like this or not.
Thanks!!!!!!:)
