tell me where to buy my first ar15 upper and lower

hey guys,
i am ready to buy my first ar15, i am wanting to buy a preban lower and a upper, where is the best place to get one and what is the best rifle to get, also do i need to have a ffl to get the upper and lower seperate or can i just order it as long as i am 21years of age, i am waiting my c&r ffl as we speak,

There is no such thing as a "pre-ban" lower that you can mate with a pre-ban upper to create a rifle. According to ATF, that constitutes making an illegal post-ban assault weapon. If you want a pre-ban rifle, you must buy the complete pre-ban rifle or wait until September.

My current preference for ARs is Bushmaster. They aren't the cheapest, but they make a quality product and they have good customer service.

You can buy all parts of an AR except for the lower receiver and have them shipped to your home. The lower must go through an FFL unless you are buying it from a private party living in your home state.

thanks for the quick respose, it does not matter if the upper is pre ban or not as long as the lower will accept hi cap mags whick i think they will, it dont have to be the best or most expesive, i just want a basic ar15 to start with, i have many other guns but i have only shot a ar onece and i am wanting to get one, keep the suggetions coming,

uppers can be sent to your house, lowers must go thru an FFL holder, the lower is considered the firearm, thats why there are no serial numbers on uppers. EagleFirearms.net have great deals on lowers and uppers. I just bought an RRA new logo stripped lower for $89.99. I already had a complete lower parts kit.
