Tempting deal

Boy, I'm really temped to get one of those model 64s at that price.

The 65 looks tempting also. It's .357 right?

What do you guys think? Are these good deals with a $30 transfer fee?

Not bad prices IMHO. I would be tempted to get that 2.5" Model 66. Those are sweet guns.

Not bad prices at all; provided that you can live
with electro-penciled stock numbers on the gun.

I agree with my friend Frosty that the 2.5"
S&W model 66 would be the way to go. These
things are surprisingly accurate! Now if that
were 3" model 65's, I would have to re-think
the situation.

I've never been a big fan of short barrels, preferring 4" or 6" barreled guns. I'm not looking for a CCW, just a range toy.

I like the 66 with the 4" barrel though.

Is the 66 a better gun than the 65?

I wouldn't go so far as to say that the S&W model
66 is a better gun than the model 65; but the 66
does have adjustable sights, which most shooters
prefer.

Ala Dan pretty much nailed it, same gun, different sights, depends upon what you need/want it for.

Yea, I should have noticed the different sights. It's pretty clear in the pics.

Actually, I think I'd rather have the fixed sights on a stainless 4" like this. If I was buying a brand new or mint used gun, I'd probably go blued with target sights, but these things look like beaters.
