Texan or Herters

Hollywood. Was really quality stuff in its day. Herters was OK but never lived up to the hype.

You are changing the parameters. Texan dies were never as popular as Herters, even here, but the quality was good. I suspect they were subcontracted to someone like CH, but have no proof. I guess I would still go with them over Herters since I owned several sets back in the day.

I only had two Herter's die sets; a 38 Special and a 30-30. Both worked extremely well. Haven't seen any Texan, but the Texan dies are reported to be very good..

I grew up with Herters. My dad and uncle had herters exclusively I still have a couple sets of herters dies and two herters presses. They are all still doing a great job.
