If you live in Texas please call, write, or e-mail your State Representative and State Senator and ask them to give their full support to the following bills.
http://www.legis.state.tx.us/home.aspx?LegSess=80R&Bill=HB284.
SB 112 and HB 258 have to do with DISASTERS and keep our guns from being confiscated during State emergencies as they were in New Orleans. They also strengthen "PREEMPTION" by addressing that counties, municipalities, etc. cannot confiscate our weapons.
Senate Bill (SB) 112 Sponsored by Corona
House Bill (HB) 258 Sponsored by Corte
*********************************************************
These bills have to do with "Castle Doctrine" and basically covers you if you defend yourself with deadly force in any place you are legally allowed to be. Such as in your home or at the park with your family, etc.
SB 378 and HB 284 goes on to say that you have no duty to retreat when you are in a place you have a right to be and are not engaged in crime.
SB 378 and HB 284 would limit the ability of criminals and their family to sue the victim of such criminal activity for killing or injuring the attacker.
Senate Bill (SB) 378 Sponsored by Wentworth
House Bill (HB) 284 Sponsored by Driver
