I wonder what happened? I have always felt pretty safe at the range but, there have been those times that someone shows up and just scares the crap out of you. Guess this is just another reason I like going out to my buddies place to shoot rather than the local range. Thoughts and prayers for his family.

I love it when they include a graphic photo of some random firearm in the story that had absolutely nothing to do with the incident......

Let's pause with this for a moment. We have nothing to go on, here. We don't know if it was a suicide, murder, accident, space aliens, or the bullet spontaenously materialized inside his cortex.

Someone send me a PM if there is additional information released and we'll look at reopening the discussion.

No need to chase our tails with all the what-ifs.

Not focusing on the specifics of the incident itself, what is the best course of action if you're on a range when a death occurs?

First is to secure your weapon instead of being one of the ninnies forgetting you have a firearm in your hand.

Second is to assess the situation and make sure that the victim isn't holding a firearm and whether the shooting victim is alive.

Third is to render aid and summon professional medical care.

Ideally, you'd send someone to the front to call for an ambulance while someone with some training rendered aid.

Locked and will stay that way but the Bexar County Sheriff's Department is now stating they believe this was a suicide.
