I went into the hospital today to have an MRI at my doctor's behest, because of my constant headaches. So we get to the room with the machine, and the nurse/dude that does the MRI procedure says, "You'll need to empty your pockets, and take out any keys, coins, guns, knives, whatever." That kind of caught my attention.
"Sounds like you've had someone bring a gun in here before," says I, dipping my toe into the water -- testing the conversation.
"Well, you've just got to cover your bases, because of that stupid concealed carry law."
"So does that happen a lot?"
"Uh, kind of. I've had police and detectives come in with a gun in their pant leg, or whatever."
At that point, I just gave up the conversation. If it is just a common trait in the medical profession to hate anything that can cause injury, why aren't more doctors complaining about "those stupid automotive laws," or "those stupid rodeos," or what have you?
I guess this is just a rant, but that really pissed me off. Thoughts?

P.S. I later learned that he was a student at the U of U medical school, otherwise known as the liberal epicenter of Utah.
