Well I don't post a whole lot on here but I figured this was worth sharing. A guy has made a knife using aluminum foil, yes aluminum foil. Here is the link that has a video showing how he did it, I found it interesting from the material he used to the stones used for sharpening.

You can make a lot of soft materials into cutting edges capable of cutting soft materials briefly, but I gotta admire the thought and effort in that.

Interesting video. Apparently the guy has several videos in which he makes knives out of rather unconventional materials.

A prison guard showed me a cell phone pic of a shank made from melted styrofoam cups. The "cutler" said he had melt down over 20 cups to get the blade to its necessary length and thickness.
