The 5 F’s of Christmas

So there are 5 F's of Christmas, 5 words that start with the letter F, that tell you what you should do or think about at, not only Christmas, but through out the year. So here they are.

The First F of Christmas is FUN. Christmas should be about FUN. Do something FUN over Christmas. Go out to eat several times. Play with your kids. Go to the movies. Go Ice Skating, snowboarding, Snow skiing (roller skating or wake boarding, knee boarding waterskiing if you live in the south which I do now!). Do something you really enjoy with your family, friends and by yourself. Take the time to do as many FUN things as you can during the Christmas season.

The second F of Christmas is FOOD. At Dede's Parents and mine, Christmas day brings lots and lots of FOOD- Pecan Pie, Chicken and Dumplings, Dressing (Stuffing as those north of the mason dixon line call it) Sweet potato pie, German Chocolate Cake (my Favorite), Fudge, Divinity, and all kinds of other stuff. I am sure that in your family, there are special dishes that only appear at Christmas time what ever they may be. Having the FOOD brings everyone together so enjoy it. You probably won't get it till next Christmas, so throw the diet out the window and enjoy all the great Christmas Treats.

The Third F of Christmas is FRIENDS. We all go through life and meet many people. Many of those people become FRIENDS and others become close FRIENDS. The ones you talk to even though you are separated by many miles. Regardless these people all touch your lives in many way. They are the people who help you get through the tough times and who you share the good times. They are important. Make sure they know it. Pick up the phone, call your FRIENDS, Drop them a text, or send them a E Mail. Keep them Close. They will be there when you need them and you will be there when they need you. Cherish Your FRIENDS.

The Fourth F of Christmas is FAMILY. We sometimes hear the saying- well you can pick your FRIENDS but you can't pick your FAMILY. Well that's true but someone greater than all of us picked your FAMILY for you to be part of, A FAMILY for you to cherish, a FAMILY for you to love and a FAMILY that loves you. That FAMILY will be there for you through the good and bad, the happy and the sad and each one of your FAMILY will help you in some manner. Your FAMILY is important. Tell them so this Christmas Season. Tell them you love them.

The Fifth and last F of Christmas is FAITH. We hear there is a reason for the season and that is true. My reason is to celebrate the birth of Jesus which is the foundation of my FAITH. But whatever your reason for celebrating this time of the year, The Christmas season should be a time to give extra thanks for to the things you have been given in life, and to recommit you FAITH. There truly is a reason for the season,

So with this said once more, may God bless and keep you, and may you remember the 5 F's of Christmas and may you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
