I'll join, as long as it's a pyramid scheme and the early members prey on the rubes. :)

Rem 700 action and 26" barrel; Jewell trigger; Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP mil/mil in Burris XTR rings on an EGW 30-MOA base; B&C stock with Harris Bipod on an AFAR rail; Tactical Kitty Decal reduces groups and doubles effective range.

Shoots half-inch groups and mesmerizes the ladies. :)

So obviously a lot of you guys have stocks on your rifles that don't come from the factory like that (on any R700 I've ever seen, anyway). Are 700s pretty customizable in that way, similar to AR15s? EG, are there companies out there that make aftermarket stocks specifically for the 700, and you can put it on your rifle to customize it as you see fit? Lots of great looking rifles here.

Thanks :) Are stocks purely cosmetic and/or for shooter's comfort, or can a quality stock make a rifle more accurate? (Probably a dumb question, if so I apologize)

Here are mine...700 bdl in 7mm rem mag, 700 bdl in 7mm-08, 700 vsf in .204 ruger, 700 bdl in 25-06, 700 bdl in 30-06, and a 700 bdl in 300 win mag, with a homemade curly maple stock.

A good stock absolutely will make a rifle more accurate if it started out with a stock that (1) is flexible enough to contact the barrel and/or (2) doesn't mate solidly with the action. Both of those apply to the lower-priced Remington 700 factory offerings--but the actions are very similar in all their rifles, so it often makes sense to get an inexpensive 700 and upgrade the stock.

Then, once you've upgraded the stock, you can upgrade the trigger, the bottom metal, the extractor, the bolt handle, the firing pin, the barrel, the bolt itself, and the receiver.

Then and only then will you have the world's coolest stock Remington 700 ejector surrounded with the best of everything. :)

Yeah it is, looks like you did a great job with it. Fit and finish look to be flawless.

Edit: Awesome! The option of customizing a gun always makes it more appealing to me. That way even when I'm not shooting, I can tinker. Thanks for the detailed response. :D

Almost finished this 6.5x55 build on a LA M700 yesterday. I milled the action out for a Jewell trigger and the oversized Tubb recoil lug. It still needs to be skim bedded and I plan to do a digital over the Cerakote.

dubbleA, I really like those AAC Blackout flash hiders ... easy to attach/remove an AAC suppressor and they offer some of the best signature reduction available. Also, the green Cerakote on the barrel and action ... is it Mil Spec Green or O.D. Green by any chance? I have both colors but haven't used them yet. Based on how well that color works with the AICS I may have to paint one of my rifles that color too.

Wow, that's some beautiful land, JDGray. Someday I'd like to live in an area like that. (Great looking rifle too )

Thanks Bobson!
Since I just bought another R700, I'll show ya'll that one too:D
Model 700 VS 22-250, Leupold VarixIII 6.5-20x50, mounted in Leupold hardware. Very flat shooter as I just took a woodchuck at 125yrds, and a Whitetail at 335 with 3" of holdover.

More landscape, the white target is at 325yrds, the next treeline out is 600yrds where my other steel target sets.

Ok like was mentioned, why not...not sure if mine qualify being modified, but here are a couple anyway.

I don't have much in the fancy dept. or short barreled dept either. I like velocity, range, and heavy for caliber bullets. Hard to get the most of them all from a short barrel. The accuracy ain't too shabby either.

First up my old 25-06. It started life in a standard BDL fashion, but after around 10yrs of hard hunting I replaced the warped stock with a Fajen laminate. Sometime around 5yrs ago I presented it to the daughter, and now her oldest is working hard to pry it from her hands, so here is "our" rifle,

The grandson and I did a little shooting back around Memorial weekend, and after he got done burning up some old mixed loads, I cleaned her out and fired one fouler and two for group at 250 yards. I do not have to shoot any more than this to know it's on, with the 18 - 25 gusty wind we had that day I didn't even bother adjusting the scope. The load is a 110gr AB over a goodly amount of RL-22. It shoots the 115gr Partition almost identical.

Then I guess there is my 25-06 AI which started life as a standard 700 ADL in 30-06. It sports a Broughton 28" 5C 1-9", HS Precision stock, Holland .250" Lug, Callahan firing pin assembly, and Jewell Trigger set to 1.5#, and Weaver 3.5x15 Tactical optics. It runs a 125gr Wildcat RBBT ULD out at 3350fps, and they groups pretty close to the one above at 300yds. This little shoat was earholed from 275yds.

Then theres the standard ol Sendero in 7mm RM. It sports a Burris Signature 6.5x24, the load used for this deer shoots averages around 1" at 300yds using moly coated Hornady 162gr BTSP pushed along at 3150fps over a load of RL-19. It dumped this nice buck on his nose at 285 yards.

Then just for kicks, here's my .270 Allen Mag, which tarted life as a standard 700 ADL in 7mm RM. It sports a 30" 1-8" Lilja, Holland .250" Lug, Jewell trigger set to 1.5#, H-S Precision Stock, Nightforce 5.5x22x50. She don't do bad out at 500yds,

She's a bit rough on the feral hogs at ranges closer than around 400yds, with shoulder shots usually resulting in prairie dog like explosions from the 169.5 or 195gr RBBT ULD Wildcats running 3250'ish fps respectively.

I'm gonna have to get a photo, my son has borrowed mine, BDL heavy barrel in 7mm-08. Love this rifle, one shot, cold barrel, 100 yards.

Thanks, I love my 700's, and I am always thinking about buying another.

my first hunting rifle was my 7mm-08, and I have loved 700's ever sence, I have even though about selling a few winchesters, and rugers that I have and replacing them with 700's.

I also like making curly maple stocks, for my rifles, and I am thinking about making one for another 700, maybe i will make a curly thumb hole stock next.

well mine ain't tacticool but it does the job...

Remington 700, chambered for the 22 CHeetah Mk1, shooting a 55 grain V-Max at 4350 fps. Stock was made by Mike Cross. It is wearing a vintage Weaver T-10. Shoots 1/4 @100 yards. Turns whistle pigs inside out and has dropped about 1200 coyotes in it's long career.
