The Walther is a terrific pistol, with a long and storied history. If you decide to get one of those -- and it would be my recommendation -- be sure to get a German-made gun, or a French-made model (Manurhin), or an Interarms/Ranger version (made in the USA). I would steer clear of the current S&W model for a variety of reasons, all of them having to do with fit and finish and functionality. Good luck.
