Where is the best, and by best I mean cheapest, place to find brass to reload a 45/70?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Thanks for letting me know. 100 ordered plus bobinoregon's donation and the pre-loads I got for hunting last season should set me up for a long while. I heard you can reload straight walls many times, is this true?FYI- Midway had some Starline in stock this morning.
For the most part yes, it's true. It's not unheard of to get 20-30 reloads on 45-70 brass. Just compare it to the .38 Special. I have well over 40 reloads on 1200 pieces of Remington .38 Special brass. I have heard of and seen .38 Special brass which was loaded so many times the headstamp is almost worn clean off. If you load Trapdoor pressure loads for the 45-70 you will generate pressures similar to standard .38 Special loads to just barely over .38 Special +P loads. Thanks for letting me know. 100 ordered plus bobinoregon's donation and the pre-loads I got for hunting last season should set me up for a long while.
