Command Sergeant Major is an E-9 in the enlisted paygrade, which is as high as it goes.

The only step after that is Command Sergeant Major of the Army. They usually are in Command of a Batallion, Brigade, Division, Region of Control, Theatre of War, or the entire Army.

I had the honor of showing the RC South Sergeant Major and the 5-2ID Brigade Sergeant Major the Fire Direction Control operations on the FOB :D .

Fact:
We fired the first friendly artillery rounds in RC South in six years (I believe).

Fact:
First element in the brigade to fire a combat mission (My platoon) in support of a complex attack 24000 meters away.

Fact:
Excalibur is a beastly round :) We were the first platoon to fire the XM982 in my battery. Glory of an $80,000 104.1lb GPS guided explosive.
