It comes in both .45 Colt and .45 Auto! I'm so excited! I always wanted one of these and was so bumed when they stopped making them. Now's my chance. I'm putting money down on one tomorrow.

The down side is I just spent $97 at Walmart for 80 rounds of .45 Colt. OUCH!

I'll be picking up .45 Colt dies ASAP to avoid this type of rape.

I had a regular Vaquero a few years ago. Sent it someplace I can't even remember. Had a bird's head grip put on it, bead blasted, and jeweled trigger and hammer. I even had my name engraved on the backstrap, just so I could/would never sell it. .45LC of course. I can't believe I don't even remember where the work was done. I am getting too old for this.

I picked one in. 45Colt a few years back. Anyone know if I can get the.45acp. cylinder & about the cost? If not will get touch with Ruger ASAP.

Those 2 revolvers are Talo exclusives. I just went to the Talo site and if I'm looking at the right revolvers they have been sold out since 2005 and there's no mention of a new run.

Archangel, the Talo website is woefully out of date and the Ruger website is tardy. New Birdsheads have been available in small numbers for a couple of weeks or so. They are built on the newer, smaller mid-sized frame with a new style laminate Birdshead "gunfighter" grips which are more shaped than the older Micarta grips and they have a super Blackhawk-style hammer. They do not come as a convertible but the word is there is supposed to be 1000 offered in 45 Colt and 250 in .45acp. (I'm sure that could change depending on sales.) The guns have no internal lock, in case of curiosity on that point. Check Lipseys.com and gzanders.com and perhaps other Talo dealers. Zanders did have some but now show zero inventory and Lipsey's did have some in both calibers but I don't know their current inventory. I suspect Lipsey's is the best bet right now to find one. I got mine in 45 acp and am very happy with it.
