I have just read about this film.

I find the storyline interesting. The main character, played by
Denzel Washington, has one of the last copies of The Bible.
He's on a journey and he protects it at all cost.

I plan to go see it next weekend.

Have you seen the film yet?

I was wondering what type of firearms (or other weapons)
are used in the movie.

i thought the movie was awesome, as far as firearms, denzel washington carries an sbs and a handgun. there is also a gatling gun, an AR, MP5, P90, AK, and various other guns.

I haven't seen the movie. Planned to see it though - at least until a few days after release.

Movies quite often come up in casual conversation where I work. Book of Eli got panned by all the folks I've talked to about it. The most common remark was, "wait 'till it comes out on DVD". When questioned why the usual answer was a shrug and a "just didn't do it for me". Then again most of those I talked to about it were women and that might have something to do with it. Probably not a flick that appeals to chicks. That doesn't guarantee guys are gonna like it but I imagine it can't hurt either.

It was good but dark, Good action scenes. I liked "man on fire" better if you are Denzel fan, more shooting and based on a true story. He was great in that.

I met my 27 year-old son at the theater on Friday to go see it. We were psyched. The theater is state-of-the art and all-digital. Fifteen minutes past when the movie should have been rolling, a staff member came in and announced the equipment would be down for a while, and that we could get a raincheck and go see another movie that day for free. We got a refund and split instead.

I guess we'll have to try it again this Friday! :D

A great film (the original was not good) and part of the reason I don't want to risk Book of Eli. Man on Fire was his high point.
