After my range session today, I decided to field strip the gun and give it a good cleaning. The gun fired normally. When I went to pull the disassembly pin out of the slide, it came out in two peices. Now I'm gonna have to call the Taurus customer service and see if they will ship me a new disassembly pin, I'll order two of them while I'm at it. If I have to ship the gun back to them for this little part, I'm gonna be pissed.
This pin is plastic, with the stress it undergoes, I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did, 1800 rounds. A plastic disassembly pin, cutting corners on a high stress part, way to go Taurus. How much more would it cost to put a STEEL disassembly pin in these guns, one that would not break in two?
