After my range session today, I decided to field strip the gun and give it a good cleaning. The gun fired normally. When I went to pull the disassembly pin out of the slide, it came out in two peices. Now I'm gonna have to call the Taurus customer service and see if they will ship me a new disassembly pin, I'll order two of them while I'm at it. If I have to ship the gun back to them for this little part, I'm gonna be pissed.

This pin is plastic, with the stress it undergoes, I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did, 1800 rounds. A plastic disassembly pin, cutting corners on a high stress part, way to go Taurus.:scrutiny::cuss: How much more would it cost to put a STEEL disassembly pin in these guns, one that would not break in two?

I know your pain. I had the exact same thing happen to my Taurus 24/7 (9mm). At first I thought the disassembly pin was plastic, but nope, it was metal and still broke in half. They charged me $18 for a replacement, which ticked me off. Then after getting a new one, it didn't fit!!! Customer Service shrugged it off and gave me the 'ol "I don't know why" answer. I ended up taking it to a gunsmith to get the new pin altered. I love my 24/7, but am not impressed with Taurus' weak disassembly pins or their customer service. Hope you have better luck with them than I did.

Im coming up on 10,000 rounds through my 24/7Pro 45 and have not had a problem at all, My wife has about 5000 rounds through her PT111 with out a single problem. Sometimes things break and need to be replaced, sometimes its the shooters fault with out them realizing what they have done, sometimes its the gun makers fault. But thats life, It can happen with any company
