China and India running the show for the planet?

Why not? I mean, what could go wrong?

Now, if China and India force other countries to take sides and they don't want to, then it may be a problem ... Seriously, she makes a good point that popular vote would allow the more populous larger states to impose on the smaller states and why the founders also gave us two Senators for each state (regardless of size) to override the bills passed by the House (Representation based on population) to better represent the interests of the smaller states.

I agree but I’m struggling to find a link to 2A. I truly hope that an issue of the Electoral
College never leads to an issue involving arms, but the further into this thing we get the more it looks possible. Violence from both wing tips can wreck a plane.

Without the electoral college, presidential elections would be decided by 10 to 20 of the most populated counties in the country. To get elected candidates would have to campaign in and cater to those areas exclusively. The President would cease to be "of the United States" and the second amendment would be lost along with all the others.
