My son turned on the NBC nightly NEWS broadcast after returning home from work, and I could not believe what I was hearing!

"Fidel Castro has outlasted nine US presidents." What happened to all those campisinos who voted against him? Or more likely, there was not even an election.

Then, they introduced their new staff MD, who was questioned on what Americans should do if we had a bag of E Coli contaminated spinach in our house? I'm so glad we have the NEWS to tell us what to do.

They also are so beneficial in that they will tell you "what President Bush means when he says what he does on the latest press conference."

I turned it off, and will go out and celebrate my freedoms and second amendment right. Shooting and the fellowship of kindred minds is refreshing.

I have to admit though, that the timing of the evening NEWS with dinner time is not good for digestion.

Years ago I coined the phrase to describe the teeeveee anchors and anchorettes, "Pap dispensing propaganda meisters."

God I HATE that term ... "journalists" and the media in general are NOT part of the government, they are NOT our duly elected representatives.

Most are nothing more than a bunch of self important, agenda driven propagandists NOT objective arbiters of the truth and certainly not a fourth branch of government.
