Cimmaron Fire arms is based in Dayton, but I think most of their stuff is made in Italy.

There's Ohio Rapid fire as well, they build AKs and ARs.

Also the aforementioned Hi Point. Yay Ohio!

Illinois:

Rock River Arms
Springfield Armory
Armalite
Rock Island Armory

Used to have Les Baer 'til he moved across the river.

Is the Rock Island you are refering to the origional one used during WWII? The current Rock Island guns are made in the Phillipines and their distributer is based here in Nevada.

It is great to see how diverse and national the firearms industry is. From reading gun mags over the past years I got the impression the industry was following the manufacturing and job exportation trend common in most other industries.
I really liked an idea I read during the height of the ammo shortage. The author suggested numerous smaller localized ammunition manufacturers. I believe this is a trend we should strive for in many important areas particularly food production. I mean in a real national/global emergency do you really think fruit and vegetables are still going to be transported from South or Central America, or wheat products from the northern states? Now if I would only take my own advice.

Don't forget in CT we have GE as well, they do or did make a gun!

We also have Sikorsky, and Electric Boat.

I think the 22a is the only S&W assembled in Maine.

I think that is correct. They also produce most of the S&W licensed Walther products in that plant (I'm pretty sure).

And as you stated before Bushmaster has a plant in Windham Maine which is about 20 miles from where I live.

The only gun manufacturer I know of in Oregon is Calico Arms but we are the proud home of many gun accessories (and knives).

The ones I know of:

Crimson Trace LasersGrips
Leupold Scopes
Gerber Knives
Leatherman Knives
Columbia River Knife and Tool

I am sure I could think of more if it were not midnight.

Rock River Arms is in Illinois Google it.
Also Rock Island Arsenal is in Illinois and they have a great firearms Museum too!!!!!

Browning....What do they do in Utah?

Three years ago, I had to send a NIB Winchester1300 shotgun back to the factory because the vent rib was mounted onto the barrel cockeyed and the ship to address for the return was Ogdon, UT.

As for what they do there.... apparently, not much, as the shotgun came back to the dealer exactly as it was sent to them.

Dealer was Lock, Stock and Barrel... who refunded my money (less shipping). They're out of business now. And from my little experience, I understand why.

I don't believe we have any gunmakers in GA, but Weaver, Simmons and Redfield scopes are made in Thomasville.

Daniel Defense is in GA.

Oklahoma has the following that I know of:

Surgeon Rifles
Tromix
Nowlin

I didn't know that High standard was still in business. I had the opportunity to shoot a high standard .22 pistol years and years ago. Are they still as good as they used to be?

At one time California had Jennings and AMT. There were a few "Saturday Night Special" manufacturers - Jennings and Bryco and Raven and one or two others who were driven out by stupid laws and stupid law suits. So now we have Jimenez which rose the legal ashes from the demise of Bryco and still manufactures guns in California - I would have moved manufacturing to a better state. At least AMT lives on at Crusader Arms along with High Standard in the Great State of Texas.
