The following is reported to be on billboard in Colorado .

"Imagine highways using traffic laws written in 1791.
Imagine radio, television, and the internet governed by regulations written in 1791.
Imagine limiting yourself to medical care available in 1791.

The Second Amendment was written in 1791"

It is not by just being logical, or factual that we have to use as tools to fight. We perhaps have to counteract the emotional and illogical thinking that is used. You and I can look at this and see the plain stupidity of it. Don't underestimate the number of stupid people who can also vote.

None of those things were around in 1791

Exactly what I am trying to point out. Yet some people put it on a billboard, and some people will read it and believe in the message it try's to point out , no matter the ignorance of what it states .

Do you know if this is factually accurate or just a talking point someone came up with and put some anxiety behind it by claiming "they saw"?

The concept is the same as the argument, "The 2A is talking about muskets not machine guns!" . We counter that frequently by pointing out that the BOR is about rights and not technologies. The concept of each Amendment has always been and is used to protect the right to free speech in electronic and internet communication not just printing presses or the town square, to protect against unreasonable search or seizure of not just your home, but your virtual property, and, yes, even modern firearms because the concept of rights and not the technology is what the BOR guarantees the government shall not violate the right of the citizen.

We have to be able to point out the difference between a right guaranteed under the BOR as concepts covering all the possible permutations of how my pig is my property as well as my digital accounts.

It came to me as factual information. I do not have a first hand account, nor do I have photographic proof. Simply another persons word. I posted it because I felt it was plausible information. I perhaps should have stated that in my first posting. I did state the information "was reported to be". Like much of the information that flows on the internet, it is hard to verify as factual.

It’s very clever, and compelling for suburban soccer mommies.

As per above. The response should be graffiti pointing out “So was the First!”
