So I am in a bit of a pickle: I have an IDPA match with classifier coming up and I plan on shooting the G41 again (for the third year) so I can classify in SSP, ESP, and CCP at once. First try I shot SS, next I got EX. I certainly don't plan to classify Master this time because I pretty much only shoot this gun once a year to classify. LOL
However my recent stock of plated 185 HBRN reloads are pretty light and don't eject or cycle the G41 with confidence (though they run 1911s and P220 without issue). I had a stovepipe and the brass pretty much stays right near the pistol. So I'm concerned that in the stress of the match I may limp-wrist it a bit and get some malfunctions. I have a stock of more powerful 200 LSWC loads and I tried them today and they function fine, strong hand, weak hand, limpish wrist. But last time I shot lead through the G41 (One mag of 230 LRN softballs) they leaded pretty badly and it took me a while to clean.
The barrel didn't look too bad after these LSWCs but of course I want to clean it thoroughly before shooting plated or jacketed again, and to hopefully mitigage any other lead-related issues through OEM Glock barrels.
Do you imagine I should be able to get through a couple hundred of these pills before accuracy or function drops off? I don't want to buy factory ball as it's gone up quite a bit in price and money is TIGHT right now.
Advice welcome
