The US government and all of it's institutions and systems is very well understood. It is quite static. Taking this into consideration it is under assault from all sides and inept at defending it's self.
I see division everywhere I look. Some people have rightful opinions, others are of such differing opinions and with a constant drum beat I truly doubt their validity and reason for being. Other than to sow division.
One thing I have seen with this rioting is property damage on such a scale, often times targeted at well invested financed major global corporations. Autozone, RiteAide, Walgreens. I don't know the relationship these CEO's have with their financiers but I am certain they are well insured and prepared for either the permanent closurer of their store location or not. Business interruption insurance, loss of income, replacement retail value of goods lost, is a windfall day once settlement has been reached with an insurer. The rooftop Koreans pictured above obviously do not come from such a place in corporate America and come from a different place where civil strife is not unheard of in times of government collapse. Look into Korean history, merchants groups and family clans often had their own private armies.
America is falling, slowly but surely it is falling.
Not many people I think look to other systems in the world. I often wonder how places in the world function compared to a city in the United States. Consider China, their cities. Shanghai a population of 30 million plus. Beijing a population of 20 million plus. Chongqing a population of 30 million plus in it's metro area. For reference:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_in_China_by_population
And then compare this to New York City, Los Angeles, or Chicago. Then compare it to overall population figures:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_cities_by_population
It doesn't compare at all. Portland, WI with a population of little more than 600 thousands was tuned into an extended debacle.
Our system isn't working, and it is under attack, systemic division is being sowed everywhere in society and culturally. Hell, right here with the opinion people are entitled to rightfully have.
I know with the mention a lot of people may say, China this and China that but their system of government operates with trained and educated administrators. They don't elect charismatic, inept, narcissistic, lying psychopaths beholding to their trans-global corporate donors instead of the populace and citizenry they are elected to represent. Every loon you see on TV, in elected office, and elsewhere has been well vetted beforehand.
Years ago due to my age I always wondered how the McCain - Finegold campaign reform act (late 1980's) would play out since it was laddered over several election cycles. I see it in full fruit now.
What played out on the streets of Kenosha was a reality TV show and fortunately for Kyle Rittenhouse, he was protected by our old institutions and the laws that remain which built this country. But like so many agree, and so many feel and think, we can't have wildcards like that running around to interrupt the narrative and objectives of others who have little regard for our society. No one seems to understand the old guard is hated, and deeply so.
The National Guard is not designed to be an occupying force or a law enforcement body. The police want to objectively arrest everyone for everything. No different than a hotel owner wanting to put up a "No Vacancy" on a holiday weekend.
In that mix however are some really really bad and dangerous criminals.
I come from a law enforcement family and my family member will sit on the couch and say, it was all BS, it was all bureaucracy, his entire career was all about funding, federal funding, state funding, and headlines. But he was a jump how high guy and a good one.
Most things should be simple, they are not by design.
I live in a very nice subdivision, away from these city problems but it should come as no surprise that wherever you may be 30% of your community will be effected by this collapse later rather than sooner.
Kyle did good, for him it was simple, he ended up in a battle for his life. 2nd amendment upheld, the right to keep and bare arms upheld, and the right of self defense upheld, the right of movement upheld, and the right of association upheld. Clearly all of those rights are under attack, even with a simple comment that the kids should have just stayed home, no firearms, etc....
If those guys in Georgia are not convicted get ready for the next round, I feel confidant the planning has long been in the works.
