I dont know if anyone saw this or not, but the main character
does battle with the big lizards with a 1895 Marlin Stainless Steel
45-70

I was excited to see this gun in a movie

I was equally disturbed when the character shot it as a semi auto...........:banghead:

No need to cock the handle in Hollywierd........

And you never have to reload, how nice is that? Where no matter how many shots you've fired, when you get close, you have to rack the action for more scary noise.

Movieland, where all motorcycles, single, 2-stroke, whatever, sound like Harleys.

...or Hayabusas :D

I think thats the way they make Marlins now merged with Remington. The poor guys at Ilion never made a big bore lever action so they must have mixed parts with the 740/750 auto loaders.

I actually had my 1895cb out today. I didn't see a selector on it for semi-auto. Maybe it's only on the stainless models.

probably intentional, hollywood is notoriously leftist, i'm sure the 'oversight' is purpose-designed to make people think all guns are rapid fire death machines.

You guys are so silly, everyone knows all you have to do to a lever action to make it fire auto is sharpen the bullets to a point. :D

And it doesn't even matter if it's stainless or not.

Nothing new, shooters have had hi-cap revolvers in movies since the 1920's. They never run out of ammo and never reload.

Movies and guns are hilarious. Glocks sometimes make a hammer cocking sound to cue the audience that the gun is now loaded and "very dangerous."

But, gun flubs are a dime a dozen. If you watch the John Wayne movie "Eldorado," Robert Mitchum goes into the saloon to find a bad guy.

During the scene, he cocks his lever action rifle to show them he's got it loaded and ready....then, just before he goes after Bart Jason (Ed Asner) - he cocks the gun again.

No cartridge comes out of the gun (remember, he's already cocked it once) when he racks the lever a second time. It's like the first cartridge evaporated because he waited too long between cocking the gun and shooting it...

It seems ALL of Hollywood forgets to cock their guns before mayhem.......

I see them rack the gun in so many scenes.......

Major head slap

If I recall correctly, Winchester had patents for full auto lever actions. I am sure there is a lever action afficinadio amongst us who can provide more info.

My favorite is still the Glock 7, I still belive if it wasn't for that scene the Glock wouldn't have had the success it has, that's when it took off. Just like 44 magnums after Dirty Harry.

The funniest thing to is how the Cowboys snap their wrists when they shoot, it looks like they're trowing the bullets out of the end of the barrel.

John Wayne wields his Fourteen Shooter in "Sons of Katie Elder".
I have seen movies where the good guy actually shoots his Colt 1911 dry, and each time he pulls the trigger, it 'clicks', three or four times before he tosses it away....... Guess he doesn't expect to possibly come on some more ammo later.
At one moment in "Predator", you will see the rare and seldom encounter Left-Handed SKS! Gotta get me one of those!!
Lately have seen some movies (low budget) where the pistols are obviously repro BB pistols. On a close-up you can see the tiny .177 bore in the muzzle!

Even with real movie guns, you can often see the tiny holes in the muzzles.

Those are blank adapter mods used to generate enough pressure to cycle the action.

I actually saw it yesterday and was impressed that he was reloading and cocking for each shot. Hmmmm.....I'll have to watch again wheN it hits HBO.

It's a movie, it's ment for entertainment!

In the movies tires even squeal in the dirt.

Enjoy it for what it is.

Why does everything need to be taken so seriously???????????????

Whoa!

The dinosaurs wield guns in this flick? I thought Spielberg was going to return the series to a believable adaptation of the original storyline. I guess I won't watch it. Not interested in the least to see reptiles that do some gun handling, no matter what narrative Spielberg came up with.
