Does anyone have any experience with the new Kel-tec KSG shotguns? It looks like a unique shotgun and not your typical design. I love shotguns and I'm just wondering if any of you own one or have operated one and what your thoughts are this particular shotgun.

I've held one and it feels like a plastic toy. And considering they're as rare as hens teeth and double (sometimes more) the MSRP, you won't find a lot of people that have anything positive to say about it.

wow.....I have purchased 3 over the last 5 months, 1 for me and 2 for my kids. I have nothing but great things to say. It is my go to, do anything gun. If you don't have anything good to say about yours, I'm sure there are many who would gladly take it off your hands.

rb288, have you considered adopting? :D

I handled one at a local store and it felt like a solid platform, I wouldn't mind owning one but I want a new bird gun before anything else right now.

Saw and handled one at the gun show last weekend. They are rare and expensive. Considering my $300 does basically the same thing, the KSG is a luxury that I can't afford.

I'll probably never need to use my 12 ga. for self defense and if I do then I'm certain that the few rounds of buckshot will get the job done.

That said, the KSG felt very stable and well made and it's a clever design. If they were more like $500 I'd get one.

You are the first person I have heard say anything positive about them, perhaps you could post a gun range report? Would you mind telling us how much over msrp you paid for your three?

What exactly does that entail? For the things I use a shotgun for, it would not serve any purpose.

Saw one at the local LGS along with some other EBR stuff on the wall - interesting take on the old SA version and the newer Turkish one - looks just like the Turkish UTAS gun - much the way the Ruger LCP looks like the Keltec pistol

Dang. That's certainly none of our business and I'm not sure why it would matter.

I think it is an awesome idea, but just not something for me personally. I have not so much as laid a finger upon one. If I could acquire one at MSRP, I'd immediately put it up on GunBroker and let the silliness begin.

Too each his own, I suppose. I never said I actually had one, so I don't have one to give away. I think it's great you have 3 of them. They're just not for me, that's all. I just don't think they'll stand the test of time like other pump guns have. Have fun with your overpriced pump gun :p

I think its a fine question to ask. The reason people aren't buying these is availability and price. Knowing what someone paid is good to know. Its not like he's asking for a family recipe or something.

What he paid at the time was what the market would bear - is it still the same? Maybe, maybe not - and what it is in MY neighborhood might not even be close to what it is in your neighborhood

I think you answered your own statement by accident, better than I could...

Its a very interesting shotgun indeed. Overpriced, but cool. If I had the extra $$ laying around I'd buy one.

I bought one in the spring from my LGS for $650. Only had the chance to shoot it once so far, but I really like it. Perceived recoil was slightly less than my Benelli Nova.

I have fondled and shot one. Not very impressed. It was akward to load although I'm sure with practice it could become easier. I did not like how close my hand was to the muzzle when cycling the slide action.

Somebody just paid $1286 for one on an auction at Buds...
MSRP is what, $800???

If your hand isn't in front of the barrel, what is the problem? m I have fondled one, but couldn't shoot because it had been sold. I like the concept for HD.
