well, it's been a while since i've been here, so perhaps i'm missing something, what is the full address of your shop, i'll be on vacation in Mt Baker WA next month & would love to visit. ( please pm me if it is against the rules to give out addresses )
Having traveled most of the east coast, and having stopped at almost every gun store I see, I must say I am impressed. We have great gun stores here in Florida, one I know of has a similar layout, yet your is every bit as nice. Well thought out floor plan, great lighting, and from the looks impressive selection. Nice job and best of luck.
The terrible thing this reminds me of is the crazy unfairness (sorry, not feeling eloquent right now) of gun laws that say that states may / must confine sales to state residents. (Or, if I overstate that, to the degree that they do. For handguns, at any rate. Corrections invited!)
What if newspapers were sold that way? (I can see the cheap shot now: "Yay! The New York Times would stay the NEW YORK times!")
When someone opens a store like this one, to which surely people will trek from surrounding states, or visit while on vacation in Utah already, it's emperor's-new-clothes obvious that their being unable to *buy* a gun from this place interferes drastically with their right to *keep* and *bear* arms.
So just as soon as there's nationwide, no-permit, concealed and open carry explicitly allowed to all non-felons / non-insane, let's work on that next
Yep, today was the first day. It was really awesome considering most people didn't expect us to be open until Monday. But we got done a little ahead of schedule.
We're still organizing, and yes, I know voice-mail is full. Our phone number doesn't get ported over until the 13th.
El T, the stools were behind the counter.
Thanks for the kind words everybody. This has taken a lot of work, but it is coming along real nice.
It would be like Wal-Mart moving into a neighborhood.
All the other local gunstores would soil their pants in a hurry.
In a very short period of time, FBMG has built a solid business by having quality stuff at fair prices backed by superior product knowledge and sincere customer service.
I would love to go to that shop. Wait let me rephrase I would love to own that shop. Looks great hope I have something just like it one day. Good luck.
Thanks for the kind words guys! Please stop by and see us, or send your friends in to see us. All we ask for is a chance to treat customers the way they SHOULD be treated.
What amazes me the most is you got Atomic Ferret running a vaccum cleaner..... The rest, well I expected to be amazed by the store, you guys are all top notch.
I've never worked in a gun store, but I did work in retail once upon a time and my father has been (and still is) in retail for the last 35 years. I've done a new store setup and store remodels before in various big boxes, and my father is actually busy setting up a new store right now and it is a ton of work.
Your store looks absolutely fantastic. My wife, the EBR hater, would at least tolerate going into a place like that just because it is clean.
The AK display is very nice.
Utah is only 3 states away from me...and 1500 miles...and a 22hr drive straight :-(
Great looking store. I'll have to make sure to come by next time I'm in UT. I'm trying to get a Moab trip together for spring (my wife is says it's a trip for her niece's wedding) so maybe then.
You know a store like that makes sense in UT. I'm not sure how many people understand how much Utahn's love their toys. For a work force that is highly educated and underpaid (when compared with nat'l averages) they spend a disproportionate amount of $$$ on guns, 4-wheelers, boats, etc...
