While watching re-runs of Pennsylvania's public TV coverage of the senate committee votes on the gun bills, I picked up some background audio I hadn't heard the first time.
It was right after the defeat of the second bill, the one that would have allowed pre-emption. They had just taken a rollcall vote, with each rep saying "yes" or "no" to passing the bill out of committee.
After the "no's" won the vote, there was some crosstalk while they sorted out what was next on the agenda.
You can hear, very clearly, a woman who believes that she is speaking privately to the representative next to her.
She said something to the effect of:
"It was defeated? Great. <sarcastically> I voted yes. I'm screwed. The NRA's going to come after me now."
Did anyone else happen to hear her? Any idea who it was?
I thought it was funny to see (hear) how shallow she was. From the inflection in her voice you could tell she really wanted to change her vote to a "no." Politicians... ugh.
