We had Agriculture Convention in Winston, New Mexico yesterday.
My partner Homer Bryant was asked if he'd attend and do his cowboy poetry and bring the guitar, fiddles, chuck wagon, and buggy. Naturally he asked me to help set up and tow the stuff down there, "we are going to show the foriegners some of the American Old West."

I brought some of my gun collection of antiques and copies, including Colts, Spencer, 1881 Marlin, Winchesters, S&W's, gun belts, spurs, saddles. It was a hit. I met people from all over the world in about 2 hours from Russia, Greece, Serbia, Croatia, Turkey, England, New Zealand, Austraila, Phillpines, Italy, to name a few.
A girl who didn't speak english wearing Islamic viel was back a bunch of times having her picture taken by friends posing with my guns and equipments. She was back at least 3 times and got bolder each time. Same with many others.

Homer's poetry /guitar drew the crowd to us along with old time waltzes and songs and music played by Jacy Y. a local girl who is real a good fiddler and singer.

It was a good oppurtunity to show these folks a first hand look at real America and they were amazed at being able to handle so many guns so freely and pose with them. (I HAD TRIPLE SAFTEY CHECKED EVERTHING BEFORE, SO THERE WAS NO AMMO)

Cost was one Colt got the sear/ hammer notch broke but it was worth it.
There was a ranch rodeo, BBQ.
But what stole the show was guns and the exchange of talking even with the language barrier.

GOOD SHOW!!! (Pardon the pun). :)

You did us all a favor. The people you spoke to will bring the word back to their own countries - and it can't help but show us in a good light.

Thanks for making the effort. Sorry about what happened to the S.A. hammer. :uhoh:

+1 on what Old Fuff said... and as a native New Mexican now on Texas soil, I could just picture it all happening! Speaking of pictures... have any to post?

Thanks Old Fluff and Sparx. I knew there would be interest but these people were like starved, they could not take it all in. The hands on and picture taking really made it work.
