currency manipulation--your money is being devalued do to the uncontrolled printing of $$$$ by our federal government. the value of the dollar is in the toilet and debt is out of control. what do you see yourself doing if you go to the bank to withdraw $$ for food and the bank is closed. how about food--can you get it, can you afford it? gas? why is it $4/gal? someone on welfare--sorry no check this month? pension--well you get pennies on the dollar with inflation. health care--take a number.

the scenario isn't pretty and you don't need anymore proof other than katrina or hurricane sandy--if you can't protect yourself you got problems.

don't for a minute think that the gov. isn't running what if scenarios with their think tanks. it ain't about ar 15's or hi cap mags. :uhoh:

I guess if you string enough dots together, gun control and "intentional devaluation of currency by the government" might be related. I still believe the direct reason for government desire for "gun control" is about keeping the populace "in check."

Now, as to why the government, or those in it pushing for GC feel the populace must be kept in check, well...

I seriously doubt that.. yes, we are devaluing our currency... it's called inflation... but as long as we have printing press, we can handle our debts... without turning this into an economics thread... it's more about the control than the guns.

What people don't realize is the 'fiscal cliff' wasn't solved, it was kicked down the road (in segments) with this all starting up in 2 months

the trillion dollar coin and the other BS that swirling around this issue...
well there is NO investor confidence, and the International and national banking industries, and many others in whole have little confidence in how this is being handled

NOW...
see how well this works,
gun control takes everyone's eyes off the ball, the economy is going to take some MAJOR hits, and unless you are in business or finance, you probably won't notice, cause the news is doing 10 second mentions if at all.
Then the WH leads the 'issues' with Gun Control...

who was it that said, never let a crisis go to waste?

We will go over the fiscal cliff I believe... We have a dysfunctional congress and a President, who I feel, has done more to divide congress than bring them together. So I would have to agree this is being used as a smoke screen to divert attention because as a populace we have a very short memory.

It's always about money. They will tax everything from ammo to owning a rifle or pistol, mark my words, just like the milage tax on electric cars, "they aren't making money off of gas", so they tax milage. How does any of this help us, "it isn't supposed to', the govt is broke, this is just another way to get cash from the middle class.

Seems to me that gun control is about fear.

The school shootings, and some other high-profile shootings, over the last 15 years or so have really freaked out a lot of people. They want "something" to be done. They pressure elected officials to do "something," but what can be done? How can our elected officials stop a man bent on dying and taking as many people as he can with him? Countries that have had some success from gun bans started their bans before guns were completely engrained amongst their populace. Even if all gun sales stopped right now, there would still be over eight guns for every ten people in the US.

Sorry guys, this isn't an economics forum. And if there is some huge conspiracy to take our guns BECAUSE of the current financial situation, does it really matter why they're coming for them THIS time?

No.
