Oh, and here is the FOIA request that provides the reason that
Trejbal is on the Christiansburg Police's 'offender' list:

Looks like his neighbors cat mysteriously disappeared. According to
the police report Trejbal admitted trapping the cat, which Trejbal
said was accidental. Trejbal claimed the cat was released on
Trjebal's property and not taken anywhere else.

It doesn't sounds like the cat never returned home.

Interestingly, according to the police report, Trejbal also admitted
to transporting wild animals that he had trapped (possums) to a park
before releasing them. The report says that transporting wild
animals is against the law, but the police declined to prosecute
Trejbal.

The cat not appearing back at his neighbor's home makes me wonder...

Well, folks...it would seem that our suspicions were correct all along!!!

I find police selective enforcement of laws offensive. I suppose Trejbal didn't "know" trapping was illegal? Right... He should have been arrested, period.

Hey now, I like selective enforcement. Just this afternoon I got a warning for doing 75 in a 35. A warning to be more careful looking out for unmarked cars.

I agree that the better solution is to get rid of the bad laws themselves, but I will settle for non-enforcecment in the meantime.
