A friend of mine at work put it (mmm) what I consider the proper perspective.
A million moms marching...... no big deal
A million black men marching......... no big deal
A million armed men marching out of the mountains.........Now thats something to worry about.:what:

I say: tell them you will show up, and bring a printout of the Stanford Law study (PDF posted here on THR by WAGCEVP) confirming how right-to-carry weapons decreases crime!

Let them chew on that!

Odd. I converted my Mom from an average liberal (Approx quote from Mom to me "guns have a place, but not near you or us unless on police") to a gun-ownership seeking moderate conservative/libertarian in 2 short years. Logic (and a little teenage pry-bar {me}) was all it took.

Sounds like we need to get 1M people and do some converting, or at least make some heads explode with some logic overload...

In stark contrast to this, I recently read somewhere (sorry can't remember exactly), that post 9/11 the "Soccer Moms" are rapidly becoming "Gun Moms". It was about their view of guns changing to the positive, relating to the protection of their children. So we can only hope....

Now is a good time to mention it. REMEMBER, Mother's Day, May 2004 is another MMM in Washington. I was there in 2000 to march against them and if you give a damn about the assault weapons ban expiring then this would be an important event to attend. It is only the second one in four years!!! If you go on vacations, you can make this event. I drove nearly 700 miles to make it last time, a one day drive, so if you are within 700 miles of D.C. you will have to come up with a pretty lame excuse to miss it. This time I will be flying in, Southwest has some good airfares to BWI. PROTESTING THIS EVENT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN GOING TO GRANDMA'S HOUSE FOR THANKSGIVING NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!!!! It is a great opportunity to take the entire family and show them the sites in D.C. Show the kids the First Amendment in action and how it supports the Second. It is a one time deal and there is no excuse for you to miss it unless you literally don't ever go anywhere. You have been given A YEARS NOTICE. PLAN FOR IT NOW! Why can many of us find the time to attend gun shows, but if it is a pro-rights meeting we would rather watch a ball game or mow the lawn. If you aren't willing to put forth this much effort then you deserve to lose your guns. I will be there. Will you?

check out the Second Amendment Sisters. they have been out numbering MMM at every MMM protest for the past year.

how many showed up at the last one in Florida? 4 MMM's?

and don't forget Jim Marche's exellent work in getting them bounced out of the offices they were illegaly using in SF.

still waiting to hear if any charges are going to be brought.
