Spent the day at the range with my 929 8 shot revolver in 9 mm. Best load was 3.5 grains of VhitaVhouri with a 147 grain Jacketed bullet at 1.160 OAL. Slightly better than my 125 grain plated loads. 25 yards. 8 shots.

All I shoot is lead in 9mm, but I've always had the best benchrest accuracy with 147gr bullets. I load them just hot enough to reliably lock the slide back.
Yes, nice group.

AZShooter1,

May I ask if you have done any work on your 929 and if so what? Also, would you be kind enough to tell me what moons you are using?

The reason I ask I ask is I brought one home new 2 months ago and I haven't tried it out yet. I want to have it worked on, I happen to live near a gunsmith that is well known for making large frame S&Ws perfect and I need to make an appointment with him to get his input. Trigger work, chamfer charge holes and sights at the minimum.

I have some Bayou 135 coated RN and I was going to start at around 3.3g Titegroup. I need to decide on moons, and that will also dictate what brass I use, I'm thinking Federals brass and TK custom moons which are not inexpensive. So I need to save up on funds.

Anyway it looks like you have yours dialed in very well.
