Why do they have the weight UNLOADED of a particular gun.....who's gonna carry an empty gun(except Barney Fife)?
I realize that different ammo weighs different, but maybe an average or something..........my Glock 17 says it weighs like 22 oz......with 17 rounds of 9mm it weighs a lot more.....what gives???
What else peeves you about these companies?

Glock does give weight of a loaded mag on their website. They also say it may vary with ammo. What more do you want? Them to come to your house and weigh it for you? Like, I hate to break it to you, but that IS the weight of the gun.

But, what bothers me:

Smith & Wesson only showing the side of their revolvers without the lock. Whatsamatta, Smitty? Embarassed?

Pet Peeves...

NO Free Samples! :D

-Only One Magazine? Sorry but a Mag IS part of the Firearm, send 3 .
-I think speedloaders (3) should come with revolvers also.
-Improve QC--Period! Mr. Gun Company would this gun you are sending out, when rec'd by a customer be able to defend your wife/daughter against a rapist ? Think about that before you put "inspected by # so and so" put in box ready for shipment.
-Customer Service. Some folks are not gun savy, they have honest questions about grips, maint., ammo, sights, refinishing. Common courtesy , respect and referrals.
-You know I'd like to see the return of the cleaning rod ( even a pull thru cable) screwdriver for sights, little tool kits, brush mop, patches, and even oil included. New shooters especially would really appreciate this.

We pay good hard earned monies, we don't mind paying said monies if in return we receive in a product worthy of monies spent.

-Oh a bit redundant, but do the beta testing at the factory first, not have the customer do it. If a problem crops up, be big enough to say so, and not under the guise of an "update", "enhancement", or anything else to talk down or insult our intelligence.

Manufacturer imposed political correctess:
Remington's magazine tubes, Ruger's 5 rd magazines.

incomplete manuals... such as not putting the torque settings for the front and rear screws of the Rem 700 rifles.

not including ammunition with the firearm... even new electronic toys come with batteries. :D :p

Building a nice 1911, then putting a plastic MSH as standard equip.
Have had three of these crack and break apart.

humph

Agreeing to make products for sale only to Military, LE, and Government entities.
Its a financial decision, sure.
But if they all said, "no more mags over 10-rds. OK, d!(&heads you made your bed so lay in it"
and cut THEM off as well as us;
betchya we'd see that 'law' change FAST!!

Plastic.

Plastic mainspring housings.
Plastic sights.
Plastic triggers.
Plastic guiderods.
Plastic decockers.

Don't try to tell me this is special indestructible space age polymer! Plastic is for toys. If the frame is steel, the rest should be as well!

Wow!
I can really see that these are major problems!

You know, there is a way you can get guns that has all these problems worked out.
Just pay more and you will get exactly what you want.

Myself, I'm glad I can both have cheap guns, and finely tuned hand built guns that cost as much as a car.

Wouldn't life be great if all we could have was the latter?

They sell to government agencies and other organizations that want to disarm us.
If they would all stop doing business with those agencies, perhaps it would make an impression on those agencies.

mjrw,

Right on about the Smith lawyer locks! I hate them. I ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT BUY A NEW SMITH, because of them. Yeah, funny they don't want you to see them...

Also hate Remington's lockout devices on their rifles and shotguns. They strike me as marketing to the most dumbed-down audience out there.

With Ruger's fixation on pollitical correctness, I'm amazed they haven't implemented lockouts on all their guns. I can't believe it. It looks like they would be wetting their pants to add yet another impediment to shooting. (They're coming next year, though.)

Dont forget Tarus they have had locks on their guns for as ever. I guess you wont be looking at any new revolvers any time soon.

Some of the 5 round bolt-action magazine going from 5 to 3 is because of the trend to fatter cartridges.

And that makes perfect sense. But why did Tikka (Beretta) change the Master Sporter in 6.5x55 with a five rounder into the Tikka Target in 6.5x55 with a three rounder? And if you want, you can still buy a five rounder for $70 :scrutiny: (they are detachable mags). I think I will email Tikka to find out what the story is.

Nice thinking. So, instead of asking a company to do more for your business, your offer is to hurl more money at them? Which gun company do you work for!? :D

Look at the new Savage bolt guns with the accutrigger. Very, very accurate, well made, and cheap....and that trigger is something they could have easily let slide and just put in a crappy one. They had been doing it for years, but they decided to give a little more. Whala, a cheap gun that actually performs as well as one costing 2x as much. THAT'S what we're talking about here.

There's going the extra mile, then there's being cheap and just barely getting the job done. I think we all know the difference.

"I REALLY hate how Springfield gives the impression that theyre a true, blue American icon even though they import almost everything from some other country"

Yeah!!!

And there are so many so called "manufacturers" who do not manufacture, but import something, ant there so many great names, who markets their "products" which are made by someone else.

Just a few example:

Charles Daly HP is probably a Hungarian FEG
Wlather PPK/E is FEG, too.
The EAA Witness is an Italian Tanfoglio
The Walther KSP 200 is a Russian IZH
Walther PPK (/S) is made by SW
The SW99 is largely made by Walther.
The Kimber main parts are made by SW.
The Beretta SAA (Stampede?) is made by their sister-company, the Uberti.
Navy Arms and dozen other "replica" manufacturers sell Italian guns.
The Browning shotguns are made in Japan by Miroku.

And so on...

It is about misinform the end-consumer.

Dont forget Taurus because they are developing a "smart-gun" with NJIT. When it becomes a reality, all other pistols will be illegal to buy or sell in NJ. When this becomes a reality, expect to see it forced upon you in other sataes as well.
