Unfortunately, it's not the $300.00 IOR Valdada scope that I actually purchased for it.
While up at Impact Guns shooting my new .357, I looked at a Trijicon Accupoint. You know, the kind that comes mounted on the false buttstock? I'd seen these before.
But this one was a 1.25-4x model. I had though that even with something as low as 1.25x, there'd be too much distortion for open-eyes, close range shooting.
I was wrong! The distortion is noticable, but your brain corrects for it, and it's very natural. Optics quality seemed first rate and the scope seems very versatile. Not the best choice for, say, an M21 or SR-25, but fine for a 16" FAL carbine.
Might have to sell the Valdada and get the accupoint. Have time to decide, though. I won't get my rifle back from Arizona Response Systems for quite awhile.
