It has a great trigger and fine bore, and shoots much better than I can see at my age - I needs me a scope on it!
Anybody have experience with the S&K scout mounts? I hear they are very solid...

Good LER scope recommendations?

Thanks

I have been looking at these myself to scope my 2a1. I used one of their mounts for a Mauser and it's great but these are significantly more money. That's why I was also looking at a XS scout mount. Just unsure of how it gets mounted and rather not if I cannot do it myself.

I used a Nikon 2-7 ler scope on my Mauser. It has an illuminated reticle and is very sharp and clear glass.

I have one mounted on my K31 with a Simmons ProHunter 4x32 pistol scope. No problems yet and the scope definitely helps my 45 year old eyes.

I ordered mine with the S&K rings which keeps the mount nice and small, but that may limit you on what type of scope to mount. The S&K with the rail would allow farther scope ring spacing.

Installing it was straightforward, but I had to use a file to get the S&K mounting nut to fit into the K31 sight base. I did not file on the rifle just the S&K nut.

I've also been thinking about ordering one of these for my No.2 Enfield.

According to Brownells, only the M44 and K31 sights replace the rear sight and require an LER scope, so that leads one to believe that this mount fits at the rear and uses a standard scope.
SPECS: Base - Aluminum, black, matte, anodized or powder coated. Sizes vary. S&K 1" Rings - Steel, black, matte finish. Height: .140" (3.6mm) top of base to bottom of ring. Fits - No. 1 Mk III Lee Enfield, also includes instructions to fit Ishapore, .308 cal. rifles. Mini-14 will not fit Ranch or Mini-30. Mosin Nagant M44 and Schmidt-Rubin K31 replace rear sight, use long eye relief pistol or scout scopes, or dot sights.

Oh, what the heck. I went and ordered it, so we'll see.

I'm toying with scoping my Ishy as well. The rifle is more accurate than I am even with the addition of a barrel mounted peep sight. I know that the topic is about scout mounts, but I'm leaning twords the receiver mount after a bad experience with a M/N scout mount (NOT a S&K mount!). Any help would be appreciated.
