When I got my first Glock, a Gen1, model 17, I HATED the trigger.
After about 1,000 rounds, I "learned" the trigger and loved it.
Don't try to compare it to a 1911. they're totally different. I now like the Glock and SIG triggers as well as my Match 1911.
I don't think either trigger set up is "better" than the other, just different. Learn either one and it will serve you well.
I stand by my earlier response, but the more I think about this, them more I’m inclined to suggest the OP just go out and buy a Glock 17, preferably a new Gen 5. You want a “plastic fantastic”, “Tupperware blaster”, go with the gun all others are compared to.
I know, lots of hate for Glock’s out there, for whatever reason, but they are good guns, as acknowledged by almost ALL the major firearms trainers out there, including Larry Vickers, Ken Hackathorn, Bill Wilson, Clint Smith, Taran Butler, Dave Harrington, Travis Haley, and a boatload of others.
Don’t be scared...contrary to popular belief amongst metal gun men, a Glock won’t steal your soul or give you erectile dysfunction. You won’t develop night sweats, or a sudden urge to drink foo foo coffee, or listen to New Age music dressed in black with your new hipster pals. You (probably) won’t even be kicked off your favorite range or left for the mailman by your wife.
No, all these myths about becoming a Glock owner really won’t happen...Trust me...this is as safe a space as you’ll find for advice...an internet gun forum.
YMMV
