I been thinking about upgrading my Square Deal B to another 550 or maybe a 750. The only problem is I don"t know how much I should ask for my SDB. The press is around 4 years old. It has three quick change setups, a 38/357 mag, 45 ACP & 9 mm. I still have the original box & paper work. What do you fellow members think? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated !!! Here's some pics of what I have. IMG_20201006_125012218.jpg IMG_20201006_125048669.jpg IMG_20201006_125114654.jpg

If the price is right, I want it
I will give you first crack at it. I have a few other things to work out. The press has a low reload count (around 4,500). I will PM you when I get things sorted out.

Hang on to the SDB. I called Dillon this morning and the guy I spoke to said they're 14-16 weeks out on shipping new presses. This could be part of the reason people are paying sky high prices.

Check ebay and Gun Broker to get an idea of what the presses are selling for. Ebay will more than likely get you the most money, unless you're not worried about how much you get for it, then sell it to dgod.

If they're 14-16 weeks out, it's a sellers market like everything else firearms related right now. Definitely post it a low price, that always gets things going. People like it when sellers are willing to take a chance at losing their ass and them getting a great deal.

Make sure everything is clean and take very clear pictures of all the stuff you have. People will pass on stuff if the pictures are terrible, they'll think that you're trying to hide stuff.

I want to thank all of you for your input. I've got to get a set of golf clubs sold, then I can get real serious about what the next step will be.You guys are the best!!!!

If you go 550 you will quickly miss the SDB. In my opinion the SDB is one of the best progressive pistol presses available. Easy caliber conversions, small, short throw on the arm. They are a joy to use.
Downfall is stuck with Dillon dies but they are great dies.

My SDB will be the last price I own.

If you put it up on ebay, you can probably sell it for more than new retail as most places are backordered on them. When I got my 750, I saw 650s selling for more than what I paid for a new 750.

Now is not a good time for anyone without equipment and supplies to get into reloading. You really can't find any bargains now and shouldn't expect any.

List it on eBay. Folks there will bid it past the cost of a new one. :what:

Yep, last panic I put a 650 on eBay that went for $1840.

Was telling my shooting partner about this thread. LOL. He paid $125 for his SD brand new, some 25 or more years back. I’ll give you that and pay for shipping. :what:

Would be a bit older than that for that price but yes, they keep going up in value and with the lifetime no BS warranty a used one is just as good as a new one. Only a fool would sell one a few decades ago for what they paid, they are not like cars, RV’s or boats, they go up in value not down.

So 80% of what they cost now is the right answer, not what they cost new back then.

Last time I looked them up.
